The new PRIMO School of Performing Arts will hold onsite registration Saturday, January 25, from 10:00 am to noon in McAfee Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach. Reservations by phone and at PRIMO's website, http://www.primomusic.org, will continue until January 31 for the Spring semester. According to Headmaster Jacob Craig, PRIMO's mission is to provide an exemplary performing arts experience for the community, allowing participants to further enrich their abilities and lives at the highest levels possible.
The semester is thirteen weeks long; all lessons and ensembles begin the first week of February and continue until the second week of May. Semester tuition is $280 for half-hour weekly lessons and $560 for one-hour lessons; the registration fee is $100. All lessons will take place on the First Presbyterian campus.
PRIMO offers instruction at the most basic to the most advanced levels from the best teachers on the Treasure Coast. Lessons are available for classical and acoustical guitar taught by Miguel Bonachea, violin and viola by Tom Fritz, percussion by David Heroux, flute by Janine Jones, and piano, all levels of voice, and beginning oboe by Emily Kopp. Other opportunities offered include violin and piano lessons by Jeffrey Lamothe, voice by Charlotte E. Munsick, piano and voice for children by Lesley A. Reilly, and harp, organ, and advanced piano by Sharon Watson. Jane Weise will teach beginning to advanced flute and beginning to intermediate piano; additional genres are planned for the future.
