30th National Night Out Against Crime Campaign

As part of the 30th National Night Out against crime campaign this year, the Port St. Lucie Police Department will host three local events in early August

March against Crime

Friday, Aug. 2 at 9:30 a.m.

  • Line up in front of Parks Edge Clubhouse at 9:30 a.m.
  • Walk through the neighborhood ending at Whispering Pines Park
  • Police Athletic League will provide a barbeque for marchers
  • 300 children will participate

Community celebration at Mets Stadium

Monday, Aug. 5 at 4 p.m.

  • Theme is “Give crime a going away party”
  • Celebrate one of America’s Safest Cities (crime has dropped more than 19 percent)
  • PSL has the lowest crime rate of Florida’s large cities
  • Fundraiser for Crime Watch Inc., in partnership with St. Lucie Mets
  • Displays and demonstrations (SWAT), entertainment, food, children’s activities, live music
  • St. Lucie Mets vs. Clearwater Threshers game begins at 6:30 p.m.

Neighborhood Crime Watch block parties

Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m.

  • Neighborhoods will host events ranging from small to large barbeque block parties
  • Police and city officials will caravan to neighborhood block parties
  • Chief will present Crime Watch signs
